Group leaders: Keith and Maureen Young.   Keith and I first walked the Camino Francés in 1996 and then walked in France, part of the Camino del Norte 3 times and the Camino Inglés. We have a lot of walking friends and try to encourage them to walk the Camino and anyone else we can persuade! 

We have about 40 members.  In our Surrey Regional Group we have been visiting St James Churches in Surrey once a quarter and have lunch afterwards, when we collect money afterwards for the CSJ’s Miraz pilgrim hostel, as part of their Sponsor-a-Week scheme, as we helped restore the Albergue at Miraz in 2005.

Venue: Wotton, Surrey

We are continuing visiting places of interest near the North Downs Way (pilgrimage route in Surrey from Farnham to Reigate)  and are getting near to Dorking at Wotton. We will be having coffee at 11am at the Wotton Hatch, Guildford Road, Dorking, Surrey RH5 6QQ, 01306 887694 and subsequently lunch at 1.30pm. After coffee we will walk up an unmarked lane, opposite the pub, on the North side of the A25, some 400 yards to St. John the Evangelist Church, Church Lane, Guildford Road, Wotton, Nr. Dorking RH5 6QQ, the Rev. David Grundy, 01306 731142.

St. John's church stands alone on a sloping hilltop, with views over the North downs, well North of the hamlet of Wotton itself. We are collecting donations for Miraz sponsor a week. Please let us know if you are able to come by Wednesday 12th July 2023.

We meet quarterly, the last Wednesday in July, October, January and April.

We are looking for someone to lead walks, without success so far, which would add to our get-togethers.
